Driving Directions from San Francisco -- allow yourself two hours to ferry:
- After bridge, stay in second to the right hand lane and follow signs to Walnut Creek highway #24, through the Caldecott Tunnel
- Follow freeway to Concord north #680
- After a couple of miles get over in right lanes to follow the highway #242 connecting freeway towards Concord/Pittsburg
- Follow signs for Stockton/Pittsburg Highway #4 for 15 miles
- Take OFF RAMP for: Brentwood/Stockton 4 east (Bethel Island/Oakley)
- At stop light turn RIGHT and drive through the town of Oakley 5 miles and turn LEFT at Cypress Road/Bethel Island (there’s a signal & left hand turn only lane) -- You buy your ferry tickets at the Valero Station a few miles down East Cypress Road heading east. It's on the right just after an intersection marked by an overhead flashing light. One ticket will get you there and back.
- Continue on Cypress until you see the second “yellow flashing light” and turn LEFT on Jersey Island Rd.
- After crossing over a small bridge, the first sign you'll see on the right is "Road Closed 1400 feet ahead, local traffic only", then another sign "15 mph, ferry road closed ahead", and the last sign "Ted & Helen Halsey Trail" where you TURN RIGHT. Follow the upper levee road to the end (about 3 miles) and park on the left side of the road to wait for the ferry. (the right side is for another island)
- EXIT the FERRY with a sharp left and follow the levee road halfway around the island ( 4 miles). When you see the BVBC burgee on the left, drive down our driveway on the right and you’re there!
Remember: the water from the faucets and hoses are from the river,
DO NOT DRINK IT.
The Ferry tickets are $7.75 round trip.
