The Bay View Boat Club is proud to present a new ceramic tile, mosaic mural to the city of San Francisco, Mission Bay and users of the Cityís Public Boat Ramp and the SF Bay Trail.
Completed in Sept. 2004, the aquatic theme celebrates the Bay View Boat Clubís commitment to the stewardship of the San Francisco Bay shoreline and maritime activities. The 40í long, mosaic scene on the Mission Bay waterfront dives below high tide, along-side the Cityís only Public Boat Ramp.
Conceived and produced by BVBC members & friends.
Principal artists: Judy West and Vanessa Workman
A celebration for the mural and dedication ceremony
will be held Wednesday October 20th at the Bay View Boat Club
Pier 52, south of McCovy Cove. (aka 489 China Basin St. SF 94107)
An exhibition of other waterfront projects, including the SF Bay Trail and the Mission Creek Bikeway will be on display in the BVBC clubhouse. The new mural is the second in a series of ìart markersî directed by Judy West, along the trace of the now underground Mission Creek, as it winds around Potrero Hill from the Mission District to the Mission Bay waterfront.
